ATH-HydroTurf is a Hydro seeding company operating out of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. We provide hydro-seeding and soil erosion management services in Brunei Darussalam and the states of Sabah & Sarawak in East Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. Established since 1995, Hydroturf (as we are friendly addressed in the local industry) is the only dedicated hydro seeding specialist in the nation.

Our in house technical personnel, staff and contract technical consultants carry a combined experience of well over 25 years. They are committed & skilled in providing high caliber technical advice. ATH-HydroTurf provides fast and effective erosion control solutions including Land fill cover and re-vegetation services. We have an array of machinery which includes one of the largest hydro-seeders in Borneo, ensuring that we can get more coverage in a shorter period on your projects allowing us to complete your project with the minimum fuss.
Our team is equipped with in-depth experience in soil erosion control, agronomy, seed selection and in particular the soils of the island. We have worked on extensive projects all over Brunei Darussalam Sabah & Sarawak, covering a wider range of applications, where we have hydro seeded 6.77 million square meters and still counting. WHAT IS HYDROSEEDING?

Hydroseeding is a grass seed sowing process that is fast, efficient and economical. Although not producing instant effects as achieved with instant turf, the process is far more cost effective and delivers better grass than the conventional sowing of seed method does.

Hydroseeding begins by mixing recycled mulch (or cellulose fibre), seed, tackifiers, fertiliser and water in the tank of a hydro-mulching machine. Once mixed, the material is then pumped from the tank and sprayed onto the ground. The mix is referred to as slurry. Once it is applied to the soil, it enhances growth by providing an ideal environment for seed germination. (As always, the climate and local water availability continue to play an important part in assisting germination speed).

  • We are pleased to introduce our improved Grassing System; Specially tailored to suit Brunei's combination of soil and climatic conditions. The acidic clay composition here is one of the most extreme in the world, and methods generally used are not fully coping with the problems
  • The ATH-HydroTurf system is faster, with superior slope stabilisation and lawn quality than either conventional turfing or alternative hydro seeding. Our system is proven superior and is available at a similar or lower cost than traditional methods.

With a total land extent of 5,675 Square kilometers Brunei is the smallest country on the island of Borneo which is covered by rich bio-divers rain forests. (An estimated 70% of the land mass is covered by virgin rain forests.) Development work over the decades has meant clearing of some of these forested areas. ATH-Hydroturf has done its bit by preventing soil erosion through hydro-seeding and secondary forest growth enhancement.
